Sometimes recoil can be an object of hatred when it makes you miss an enemy at the most epic moment. To take an important step towards professional gaming in CS, first of all, you should either learn to play with the spread or reduce it. If the first option is achieved only through persistent training, then the implementation of the second can be carried out simply by following the instructions. The instructions below show a method on how to reduce the spread by setting up the client without cheats and other nonsense.

How much can the spread be reduced in CS 1.6?
There is no one hundred percent acceptable method for reducing bullet dispersion in CS 1.6. All that can be done is to make the optimal settings that will greatly facilitate the gameplay and make it more efficient. Specifically, you need to configure "config.cfg".

There are two ways to reduce the return in the
client The first method is as primitive as possible. All you need is to download and connect the appropriate plugin to the game with ready-made optimal settings, after which you will be able to enjoy a comfortable game with reduced returns. But there are some nuances here. Firstly, the plugin may contain bugs, which will negatively affect the gameplay. Secondly, there is a huge amount of malicious software on the Internet, so it is possible that you may download a plugin with a virus. It can be, for example, annoying advertising, or something else. It can be displayed in the game chat without the player's knowledge, for which it is easy to "catch" a ban on the server.

The second way is to set up the config yourself, which requires some effort.

Basic network settings
Polling speed of the server client, set the maximum value.
cl_updaterate "102"
Packet transfer rate from client to server, set the maximum value.
cl_cmdrate "101"
The maximum number of bytes/second that the server sends to the client.
rate "25000"
The maximum number of bytes/second that a client can send to the server.
When changing maps, this setting can go astray, so it is recommended to disable the button and apply it at the beginning of a new map.
For example: bind "j" cl_rate "20000".
cl_rate "20000"
Graphics Card
Settings For ATI video cards, put "1" and for NVIDEA - "0".
ati_npatch "1"
For ATI video cards, put "2" and for NVIDEA - "0".
ati_subdiv "2"
For ATI video cards, put "4", and for NVIDEA - "0.1".
gl_polyoffset "4"
Mouse and Scatter
Adjustment Filter or smooth mouse movements.
With the specified "1" they will become smoother, with the AMW and Deagle it is easier to shoot.
m_filter "0"
The time corpses are kept on the ground and affects the spread.
The value of "600" is the standard spread.
The value of "180" - the spread is lower and it is convenient to shoot with the Deagle.
The value of "0" - the spread is even lower, it is more difficult to shoot at long distances, but it is more pleasant to shoot with the AWP and Deagle.
cl_corpsestay "600"
Speed of recovering the scope to the default position after recoil.
It is customary to use the value of either "80" or "128".
cl_dlmax "128"
Above the listSee the basic settings that allow you to play CS 1.6 more efficiently and easily. This is the optimal ratio of settings, which will help to slightly reduce the spread in the game.

It is worth noting that some servers can make changes to your config on their own. Therefore, we recommend playing on our Counter-Strike 1.6 builds. If you reinstall the game or visit a low-quality server, you can easily and simply return the game to its previous settings.
