A little about FPS.
For clear shooting, you need a stable 100 fps (frames per seconds).
You can check your fps in-game by entering the fps_max "101" (set the limit) and cl_showfps "1" (showing the fps in the upper right corner) into the console. If the fps does not rise above 60 or 70, the video card is not configured.
If you have 100 fps but something lags, I advise you to check your loss and choke. To do this, use the alternative net_graph command (the values of displaying the graph on the screen: 0-off, 1-left lower corner, 2-center, 3-right). Enter net_graphpos "1" to set up the chart view. loss and choke must be "0".
An increased loss indicates packet loss, and there may be problems with shooting, sounds, as when watching HLTV. For convenience, use the graph shift command so that it does not interfere with the display of $ money or name (hp) in observation - net_graphwidth.
A little about the choice of resolution.
Almost all articles boil down to the fact that at a higher resolution it is more convenient to shoot with an AWP, and at a lower resolution - with an AK & m4a1.
I will only say that all professional players have long found the most optimal resolutions, these are 640x480 and 800x600. And both have excellent snipers and aimers. And not all monitors hold 100+ hertz at high resolutions.
Well, more on that later, but the point in the resolution is that at a lower level, the surrounding textures (walls, boxes and other objects) become more blurred and larger than the HUD (hp, armor, money, chat, crosshire), which allows you to concentrate better on the game.
A little about rates.
You've probably heard of the rate, cl_updaterate (the frequency of updates received from the server) and cl_cmdrate (the frequency of updates sent to the server).
If you have a small ping, to make it stable and the shooting not lagging, set the "rate 25000; cl_updaterate 101; cl_cmdrate 101". With a ping of more than 45, the game becomes less comfortable, then I advise you to set these values less. This will reduce ping, and it won't hurt shooting on the network than on the lan.
Approximately set "rate 15000; cl_updaterate 65; cl_cmdrate 65", I do not recommend it below, because these commands affect (in this case, spoil) the shooting.
Well, now about the main thing. About shooting.
Downloading and studying, checking the latest configs of top pro players on DM, I set up shooting for myself thanks to several interesting commands, the values of which are changed by the players.
The values of these commands together make up the complete shooting and spread setup, and I've tabled some of the PRO players. I will also tell you what these commands mean.
*To begin with, let's set up shooting for a video card.
ati_npatch "1" [def.]
ati_subdiv "2" [def.]
The default values (1 and 2) of these commands are mainly set by owners of ATI video cards. nVIDEA is set to 0.
If you have these default values, then there is an order of magnitude less sense during clamping. And if they are at "zeros", then the sense is default and you control every cartridge.
gl_polyoffset "0.1" [def.]
This command depends on the graphics card. GamesOki with nVIDIA vidia is 0.1, and with ATI - 4.
If you put it under your card, then shooting is more comfortable.
cl_corpsestay "600" [def.]
Commonly used - 600, 180, 0.
In translation, "corpse stay" means "preservation of the corpse", i.e. with a value of "0", corpses will disappear almost immediately.
BUT this setting is also responsible for the "type" of shooting.
If the value is "600", the spread is default.
With a value of "180", the spread is smaller, it is easier to shoot from a deagle.
With a value of "0", the spread becomes even smaller, shooting at long distances is more difficult, and it is very convenient to shoot with DGL.
0 - this value is used by snipers (markeloff, Fox).
cl_crosshair_size "1" [def.]
There are only three values for the size of the scope: "1" aka "small", "2" - "medium", "3" - "large".
At a resolution of 640 and dyn 0, the sight on the main devices turns into a small plus :D (Neo, Delpan).
cl_dynamiccrosshair "1" [def.]
Dynamic sight (if you crouch - the sight narrows, jumps - expands).
With a value of "0", the sight is stably fixed. It's a matter of taste.
cl_dlmax "128" [def.]
The main values have long been 80 and 128.
This setting is responsible for returning to the default position of the scope after recoil.
m_filter "0" [def.]
The command is responsible for filtering the mouse (smoothing mouse movements).
If you have a value of "1", then aiming becomes smoother, it is easier to shoot with a deagle.
Among all the configs I studied, I noticed this command only in Egor (markeloff).
hpk_maxsize "4" [def.]
There are two main values - these are 0 and 4. At "0" the shooting is "scattered", and at 4 it is heavier.
It's a matter of taste, for example, f0rest cArn and Gux use "0.001".
viewsize "120" [def.]
Most likely, this is the most important setting for adjusting the shooting and spray to the resolution and scope.
The main values are 110 and 120. At 110, bullets fly from the top of the sight, and at 120 from the center of the sight.
If at 120 you knock on the "heads" with the AK, then at 110 you have a great clamp with the m4a1.
Below I have collected in a table the settings from the latest configs of the most famous PRO players, which you can easily enter into the console in one line. I collected data for a long time, I think many will be interested to know how their idols play.
